# Meowven OS Hyprland 0.2.0

Release date: 2026-10-06. This release makes the owner's Chroma rice the official
Hyprland desktop. Plasma 0.1.0 remains available at its existing download URL.

## Desktop

The release captures the 2026-10-06 desktop: the 36px Quickshell top panel,
editorial clock and music widgets, dashboard, notification service, Rofi,
transparent Kitty windows, square borders, blur and spring animations. It
includes the exact Instrument Serif, Noto Serif JP and JetBrainsMono Nerd Font
look, plus the wallpaper's captured Matugen palette.

Only the supplied `meowven.png` wallpaper is bundled. Its SHA-256 is
`4792ff7297509f3762a0777244c53c5b560a32c1b14de154ed5c433d52b7acd2`.
The portrait is the existing crop of that same image. No alternate wallpaper
collection, credentials, clipboard history or browser data is included.

The package adapts home paths, display discovery, system services and identity
for Meowven. It does not force the owner's monitor resolutions or NVIDIA
userspace backend. The passwordless live account cannot accidentally enable
Hyprlock. Personal overrides go in `~/.config/hypr/local.lua`.

## Build

Built in an isolated x86_64 Arch VM with archiso 91. Packages include Hyprland
0.56.2, Quickshell 0.3.1, awww 0.12.1, Matugen 4.2.0, Rofi 2.0.0 and Kitty 0.49.2.
The kernel is Linux 7.2.8.arch1-2. The ISO includes the existing offline Shrine,
`meow`, `ameow` and Calamares installer session.

The desktop source archive is deterministic and checksum-pinned by its PKGBUILD.
The terminal bonsai is built from checksum-pinned upstream cbonsai 1.4.2. The
reviewed Calamares 3.4.3-2 package is reused only after its recipe hash, Python
module and executable ABI checks pass. The complete package list accompanies
the release.

## Verification

The exact release ISO passed a fresh UEFI/KVM/Virgl boot at 1920×1080,
starting on workspace 1. All 23 live checks passed: identity, compositor
configuration, mapped shell layers, session services, fonts, the single active
wallpaper, captured colors, live-lock guard, package/shutdown command dry runs
and the dedicated installer session. Kitty, Rofi, Thunar, the dashboard,
wallpaper chooser, notifications and power-menu cancellation were exercised.
A normal `ameow` request from Kitty powered off the VM with QEMU exit status 0.

The source suite passed 57 tests, plus 9 release-worker and 8 upload-client
tests. Package/source checks and shell/Lua syntax checks passed. Tests cover
command behavior, branding, profile composition, first-login initialization,
user customization preservation and deterministic desktop packaging.

The standalone palette-generation check rendered all nine templates and matched
the captured colors exactly. The original wallpaper bytes match the packaged PNG.

Known live-VM warnings: systemd's optical-media loop helper reports
`/dev/sr0: No suitable partitions found` while archiso mounts the ISO successfully.
Quickshell logs a portal app-ID registration warning, and Thunar has no thumbnail
service installed. The tested desktop and file-manager operations still work.

Disk installation, installed reboot, physical hardware, encryption, alongside
installation, audio playback and screen sharing remain unverified for this image.
Secure Boot signing is not configured. Start with a disposable virtual machine.
A successful live boot is not a completed installation test.
